.999 Fine Silver Wire Information
The main difference between Fine silver and Sterling silver is the amount of other metals used in making the wire.
Sterling Silver is 92.5 percent silver with the remaing 7.5 percent made up of other metals, usually copper.
Fine silver is .999 percent pure silver.
Fine silver will not tarnish like Sterling Silver and requires very little care. If the piece does have some Sterling components, it is still recommended you keep it in a zip-loc bag, and wiping any areas in contact with the Sterling will clean any tarnish that does occur.
